TELANGANA KAMMAS

According to some writers Telangana is oldest state existing in Deccan Area of India since the epic "MAHABHARATA". It consists Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mehboobnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad Districts. The Population is Telangana is about 3.5 crores as at 2009.

There are about 12 lacs Kammas living in Telangana Khammam - 5 lacs, Warangal - 1 lac, Nalgonda - 1 lac, Nizamabad - 1 lac, Hyderabad - 3 lacs.


Most of them are migrated during Chalukya and Kakatiya period i.e. 600 AD to 1400 AD. Later some of them migrated to Coastal Andhra due to wars, conflicts with muslim kings.


Kamma Kings in Telangana :

(a) Manthani Durjaya Kings :- Came from Coastal Andhra During Chalukya period to Karimnagar and ruled the Manthani, Karimnagar, Mulug area between 600 AD to 1100AD. Manthani Medaraju is famous king who fought with Kakatiyas and defeated and their kingdom was occupied by Kakatiyas.

(b) Kakatiyas - Bastar kings : Kakatiyas ruled Telangana as well as whole Andhra between 950AD to 1325 AD, Bastar kings ruled in Chatisgarh 1325AD to 1950AD.

(c) Malyala kings another Durjaya rulers came from Andhra ruled from Vaddemanu near Suryapet during Kakatiya period.


(e) Korivi rulers Vidiyala surnamed durjaya kings ruled in Warangal, Khammam districts.


You can find some other small rulers during Chalukya, Kakatiya period. During Muslim rule in Telangana between 1400 AD to 1950 AD some kammas were also given Jagirs, Patel posts but very lettle in numbers when compare to Reddys.


Once kamma population in Telangana is more because of muslim rulers attacks most of them migrated to Andhra Region. There may be kamma population before chalukya rule in telangana but we don't have proofs for that. They may be lived in Khammam, Warangal, Nalgonda districts only !.




"ANDHRAWALA BHAGO"

Andhrawala Bhago is latest Velama caste target is meant to drive away kammas, kapus of Andhra from Telangana?. Velamas and Reddys are two major castes living from centuries in Telangana. Nearly 30 lacs Velamas (Aadi, Koppula, Velama Dora) migrated to Coastal Andhra Region, Orissa 300 years back, around 1700 AD. Muslims kings appointed Velamas as Zamindars in Coastal Andhra Region, because they are very loved servants, Tabedarlu to Muslim kings, shifted lacs of Velamas to Coastal Andhra. This led to Andhra, Telangana conflict. Rajus of Andhra killed thousands of Velamas in Bobbili, Challapalli Rajas, Amaravathi Rajas also killed Hundreds of Velamas, Bangaru Tirumala of Madura (Tamilnadu) Kingdom also killed Hundreds of Velamas in a war with Venkatagiri Rajas. This is the main reason why Velamas hate Rajus, Kammas, Kapus, Reddys of Andhra. Some velamas again migrated to Telangana due to Rajus fear.


These migrated velamas occupied most of agriculture lands in in Andhra, Orissa particularly Srikakulam, Vizanagaram, Visakhapatnam. What ever velamas land holdings in Andhra are all occupied, Kabja lands with the support of Nizams of Hyderabad and British. What ever they have is Kabja Lands. So Andhra people can also call for Telangana Velamas Bhago from Coastal Andhra. Telaga, Kamma, Reddys of Andhra Should take initiative against this KCR and KVP led Andhravala Bhago agitation ?.


But it is not safe for Andhra People, NRIs to come to Hyderabad. Better they go to Vizag, Vijayawada-Gunturu, Nellore, Bangalore, Chennai, Bubaneswar. Rayalaseema people may settle in Tirupati or Kurnool, Bangalore.


Andhra Settlers of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Mehaboobnagar are under severe threat these Velamas led Telangana people may attack, kill. Eventhough they have constitutional right no body cares. Government cannot protect every body. Some people may lost their lives, properties in this kind of agitation.

Kamma Settlers may migrate to Khammam, Nalgonda, Warangal kammas living areas. it may be little bit safe.
